The new record, 'Light, Dark, Light Again' sounds like your therapy breakthrough moment. Is there a song on the record that you wrote and afterwards realised the growth you've achieved personally?

Once I finished Saturn Returning I felt like I had broken through some fog, like I wasn’t afraid of myself anymore.

Do you write best when you're in a light or dark place? 

Somewhere in the middle actually…the best ones seem to come when I’m ready to leave a dark place behind and writing myself further into a light place.

What would you tell 16 year old Angie? 

Oh my god, so many things. You’re doing good at the invisible stuff, there are better ways out of loneliness, try to speak more no matter how red your face goes, don’t be unkind.

Do you find more inspiration in life or art? 

Ah, hard question! They’re the same thing! I think inspiration is the feeling of finding art in life, so maybe my answer is life. But also art - there are really nice inspiration moments at other people’s shows sometimes, hearing a lyric that sparks a new idea, breaks something open, and I have to write it down in my phone before I forget without being the rude person in the crowd on their phone!

What are your best self-care tips?

Say gentle things out loud to yourself, dance whenever you remember to, go outside, go outside, go outside.
